ESOL PROGRAM
The Culpeper Literacy Council offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) throughout the year. Classes and tutoring are offered at no charge to qualified students. Prospective students must be 18 years of age or older. This program will prepare you to succeed in basic English language skills, conversational English, English Language Civics and/or US Citizenship preparation.
To enroll for our ESOL program, please contact our office to schedule an appointment. Plan to spend about an hour on your enrollment visit. Our intake process involves capturing basic contact and educational information and a short assessment of your English language skills in speaking and listening. Following the intake, a class or tutor will be assigned.
Instruction may include Rosetta Stone, a computer based language program, US History, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) material and classroom instruction, as well as individualized tutoring. EL/Civics meets at three times on Fridays (morning, afternoon or evening). Conversational English classes are held on Saturday mornings.
